SaveTheirDays

Privacy Policy

Effective: set on launch date · Last updated: 2026-05-01

Pre-launch draft. The commitments below are the deal we're building toward and will be reviewed by counsel before launch. They will not get weaker between now and then.

The short version

SaveTheirDays is a private place for you to write about your kid. We don't share your entries with anyone. We don't show you ads. We don't train AI on your kid's words or photos. You can export everything as plain text and image files anytime. If we shut down, you get six months notice and a final export. If we get bought by a major platform, your lifetime tier converts to a refund.

If something below ever conflicts with the short version, the short version wins. Tell us and we'll fix the long version.

Who runs this

SaveTheirDays is operated by Cascade Digital Marketing LLC (or a successor entity, TBD before launch). You can reach us at hello@savetheirdays.com.

What we collect

We collect three categories of data, and only what's necessary for the product to work.

Account information

  • Your email address (required to give you an account)
  • Your first name (optional, used only to personalize prompts)
  • Your password, stored as a one-way salted hash
  • Payment information, processed by Stripe and not stored on our servers — we see only that the payment succeeded, the amount, and the last four digits of your card.

Your entries

  • The text you write each day
  • Any photos you choose to attach
  • The date and time of each entry
  • Any tags you add (Mom / Dad / your child's name)
  • The names you give your children inside the app

That's everything you create. We don't read it. We don't analyze it. We don't process it for any purpose other than displaying it back to you and printing it into your year-end book.

Technical information

  • IP address (used only to detect abuse and to localize date/time)
  • Device type and operating system (used only to fix bugs)
  • Crash reports (used only to fix crashes)

We don't use third-party advertising trackers, social-media pixels, behavioral analytics, or fingerprinting tools.

What we never do

These commitments are part of our terms. We can't change them later without your consent.

  • We don't sell ads. Not now. Not after a Series A. Not ever.
  • We don't sell your data. Not to advertisers. Not to data brokers. Not to "research partners." Not in aggregated, anonymized, or hashed form.
  • We don't train AI on your data. Not on your entries. Not on your photos. Not on your child's name. Not on metadata about your usage.
  • We don't read your entries. Contents are stored encrypted at rest. The only humans who ever see your text are you, anyone you explicitly export to, and the printing partner that lays out your year-end book — whom we'll name in our terms before you order.
  • No automatic sharing. No "follow your friends" feature. No public profiles. Sharing exists only as an export tool you have to actively use.

Your data is yours

Export. You can export all your data anytime, in one tap. The export comes as a folder of plain text files (one per entry, dated) and the original image files for any photos. Plain text and JPEG, readable on any computer in any year.

Delete. You can delete your account at any time. Deletion is permanent — your entries are removed from our active systems within 7 days and from our backups within 90 days.

Correct. You can edit any entry at any time.

Port. Your export is your port. You can take your archive to any other tool, write your own software around it, or print it yourself.

Children's data

  • The parent is the account holder. Children are not users of SaveTheirDays.
  • Your child's data inside the app belongs to you. You decide what's recorded, retained, and deleted.
  • We will never use your child's name, photos, or other content for marketing — not even with your permission.
  • When your child reaches the age of legal majority, they can contact us directly to request deletion of any content about them. We will honor those requests within 30 days and notify you when it happens.
  • SaveTheirDays is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Shutdown commitment

If SaveTheirDays shuts down for any reason, we commit to:

  1. At least 6 months notice before any data is deleted or services are turned off.
  2. A final export of your full archive (text + photos in plain formats) delivered to your email before removal.
  3. A prorated refund of any lifetime payment, calculated against a 25-year life expectancy. (For example: if we shut down 5 years after you paid $149, you receive 80% × $149 = $119.20 back.)
  4. Open-sourcing the export tool so any third party can read the format independently of us.

Acquisition commitment

If SaveTheirDays is acquired by a major platform — defined as Meta, Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, TikTok/ByteDance, X, or any successor or affiliate of these companies — we commit to:

  1. Refunding 100% of any lifetime tier payment, regardless of when you paid.
  2. 180 days notice before the acquisition closes.
  3. A final export of your archive before any data transfer.

This commitment will be written into the company's articles of incorporation and any future acquisition agreement before it can close. If we're acquired by anyone outside that list, the acquirer must publicly affirm this Privacy Policy and the homepage commitments in writing within 30 days, or the same refund-and-notice provisions apply.

You can request a copy of the contractual language at any time by emailing legal@savetheirdays.com.

Changes to this policy

We can update this policy for clerical reasons and to add new privacy protections. We cannot weaken any of the commitments in this policy without your express consent. If we ever try to:

  • Reduce the shutdown notice period
  • Reduce the acquisition refund
  • Add ad-supported tiers
  • Begin selling, sharing, or training AI on your data
  • Reduce the export tool's accessibility

— we will email every active account at least 30 days before any change takes effect, and you can request a full refund of any payment you've made and a final export at that time.
